RENTAL BOOKS or, “What is everyone reading now?”
What? The Middletown Public Library has a rental collection of BEST SELLERS to enhance the regular collection. The rental book collection provides library users with an option for obtaining popular fiction and non-fiction titles. Some titles are so popular that a lot of people reserve them. If you do not wish to put a book on reserve and wait….the RENTAL BOOKS are for you!
Why? Many libraries have added a non-reserve rental collection to add to the choices available for customers. The serendipity of finding a best seller on the shelf instead of waiting for weeks or months appeals to some people.
How? Find a book on the rental book cart, and rent it for $2 per week. Pay the rental fee when you borrow the book. Rental Books are available on a first come, first served basis. They cannot be reserved. The Library will continue to purchase free copies that may be place on reserve (HOLD)
Where? The collection is located on a book kiosk directly across from the Circulation Desk.
