Summer Movies @ the library!

Beat the summer heat in our newly renovated (and air-conditioned!) community room, and enjoy the movie theater experience at your local library with our upgraded sound and projection system!

On Monday, June 27, we'll be offering two screenings of True Grit, a 2010 Western film written and directed by the Coen brothers. You've seen the John Wayne version, and maybe you know that it was based on a 1968 novel by Charles Portis. Now see the film that was nominated for ten Academy Awards, only recently released on dvd.

The film will be shown twice, at 2pm and again at 6:30pm.

“One World, Many Stories”

 Open to young people, pre-readers and readers, up to children entering 5th grade. 

The Teen theme is "You Are Here!"

Open to tweens and teens entering 6th grade to 12th.

The Adult theme is "Novel Destinations"

Open to adults over the age of 18.

It’s easier than ever to participate by signing up online and keeping track of the number of minutes read. Please note: "Novel Destinations" will not be available online. Please go to the Borrower service desk to register.

FLOW CIRCUS  

Flow Circus incorporates juggling and magic. Paul Miller tells the story of how a trip to the circus inspired him to visit his library to learn more about juggling which led to balloons, magic, and the history of the circus. Highly interactive and sure to keep everyone engaged from beginning to end!

Please note that all Branch storytimes will be held on Friday mornings. Ages 2-5 with parent/caregiver. Early literacy fun is not limited to the Main Library. The Bayshore, Lincroft and Navesink Branches each hold a weekly storytime featuring picture books and a craft. Branch storytimes are an opportunity to join your neighbors in sharing the joy of reading.
