 The Middletown Township Public Library will be hosting three free programs at the library.

 MARCH

 What: “Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders: Coping Strategies for Success”

When: Tuesday, March 20th, 7:00 pm

Where: Middletown Township Public Library, 55 New Monmouth Rd., Middletown, NJ  

 Dr. Denise Aloisio and Dr. Anne Roth will present this very important topic here at the library. Dr. Aloisio practices and is Board certified in Pediatric Developmental Behavioral Health, and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and Pediatrics at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital in Neptune, New Jersey.
Dr. Anne G. Roth, DO also practices and is Board certified in Pediatric Developmental Behavioral Health and Pediatrics in Neptune, New Jersey. This program is for adults only.

What: “ABC’s of ADHD”

When: Tuesday, April 24th, 7:00 pm

Where: Middletown Township Public Library, 55 New Monmouth Rd., Middletown, NJ 

 Presented by Dr. Pauline Nelson

Do you wonder if your child has ADHD? Do you have a child or family member already diagnosed with ADHD and want to further your understanding of this condition, and maximize your ability to help and advocate for them? Dr. Pauline Nelson, clinical psychologist will demystify this increasingly common diagnosis, discuss signs that may indicate that your child has ADHD, and review recommendations for home and school to help reduce the impact of symptoms. This program is for adults only.

 What:  “Maximizing Coverage Under the New Jersey Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities Insurance Mandate”

When: Tuesday, May 8th, 6:30-8:30 pm

Where: Middletown Township Public Library, 55 New Monmouth Rd., Middletown, NJ

 Autism New Jersey in collaboration with the Statewide Parent Advocacy Network (SPAN), welcomes parents and professionals to attend this free workshop, which answers questions such as: are all plans required to comply? Who determines what treatments are medically necessary? What’s the difference between a self-funded and a fully-insured plan? Learn how the mandate affects delivery of services for autism and other developmental disabilities, how it intersects with state and federal laws, and how to effectively navigate the process of obtaining coverage.

The first stage of bringing the library’s automated phone system back online is complete.  You should now be receiving calls notifying you that there are holds ready to pick up.  The library is still working on telephone overdue notifications as well as the automated telephone renewal system – we hope to complete these two steps in phases over the next couple of months.

In the mean time, the library encourages you to use the email notification and online account management system, available from the “My Account” link at www.mtpl.org  .  Placing holds, renewing materials and checking due dates can all be done through the online system.  You can submit your email (for email notification) and set messaging preferences here as well.
